LESLIE KREBS

Literacy Specialist

Leslie L. Krebs was a professional graphic artist and designer for over twenty-two years before transitioning to the classroom through the Arkansas Department of Education Non-Traditional Teaching License Program.  Ms. Krebs earned her Liberal Arts Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and a Certification in English Language Arts and Oral Communications grades 7 – 12 from the University of Arkansas.  She has taught 10th grade English and led the Journalism and Yearbook programs at North Little Rock High School.  After eighteen years of service, Ms. Krebs retired from classroom teaching in May of 2022.

Ms. Krebs has attended graduate programs at the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Missouri.   She is the recipient of two Fellowships from the American Society of News Editors and was awarded a fellowship by the National Endowment for the Humanities to the Center for Mark Twain Studies at Elmira College in New York for additional studies.  

Leslie brings her experience from the business world and the classroom to mentor students who want to further their education by completing a high school diploma and achieving their career goals through job training.
